Project Nephilim

Project Nephilim: Salvation is the first web series from Paracelsus Films, and the first chapter in a larger story revolving around the destruction of San Jose California (referred to as The Event). The first chapter, Salvation, consists of five half hour long episodes and a sixth 95 minute episode. Episodes 1-5 are currently hosted on Blip.tv, with the final episode available on YouTube.

The series was filmed over the course of 4 years, with no budget and a only a single DVX100 camera. Despite these limitations, a group of nearly 50 actors worked together mostly on weekends, sharing crew duties, to bring this project to life. Along the way Paracelsus Films grew into the company it is today, learning from mistakes and refining it's technique.

Today we pride ourselves on finding creative ways to tell stories that would seem impossible on small budgets.

Several years ago, the city of San Jose, California witnessed a catastrophic disaster. Although many still struggle to find answers, it was an event that shaped the career of Detective Chase Quinn. Once vibrant and ambitious, the years since have left her grim and weary, haunted by the ghosts of her past. Struggling to reclaim the remnants of the person she used to be, she finds solace in the small moments spent caring for the daughter of her murdered partner. When, Melissa Weller, a close friend of the family is found dead, however, Chase's life threatens to fall into a tailspin. Determined to solve the crime, she throws herself headlong into the investigation. What she uncovers isn't merely the story of one woman's desperate search for salvation, but the beginnings of answers to the most important question of her life.
